Packed Meets over the Weekend: the 2026 Time Trials Bring over 500 Swimmers to NAA Pools

On August 1st, 2026, crowds, families and swimmers filled the bleachers and parks at the Elm Park Pool and the Ballantyne Aquatic Centre, as the Northshore Aquatic Association hosted its annual Time Trials. The two competitions saw over 550 swimmers race over the weekend for a chance to rank and qualify for the prestigious end-of-season Championship ‘Big’ Meet, held the Saturday after.

“Organization was incredible across the board”, says Leniyo Amayao, Vice-President of Competitive Swimming. “Over my tenure, I have never two better organized Time Trials. It is a true testament to the outstanding work accomplished by Joint Meet Organizing Committee and the volunteers on site. I would like to especially thank the over one hundred volunteers who have made this weekend possible for hundreds of swimmers.”

Qualifiers Announced

Later that evening, NAA Competitive Swimming released the Combined Results on the Competitive Swimming site. The top twelve swimmers in each individual event, to a maximum of two per pool, qualify for the ‘Big’ Meet.
