Connecting Communities: The NAA Joins Forces with the YMCA

The Northshore Aquatic Association and the Vice-President of Competitive Swimming are proud to announce a new Community Wave partnership with the YMCA of Quebec.
As part of this initiative, the YMCA will host outreach kiosks at meets throughout the summer, with the objective of informing NAA members of community services available to them and developing a long-lasting relationship with our community.
YMCA representatives will be present at select meets to engage with families and distribute information about health, recreation, and community programming.
Additionally, the NAA and the YMCA have agreed to a partnership for a youth volunteer program, which will see the NAA welcome YMCA youth as volunteers at NAA Competitive Swimming events. The Vice-President of Competitive Swimming hopes that this initiative will bolster the current Student Volunteer Experience Programme and create new avenues for youth to enter and join NAA Competitive Swimming activities.
This partnership is a concrete way for us to open our doors to the community, strengthen youth engagement, and make our competitions a leading space for sport, social development and community participation. This is at the core of the idea of the Community Wave.
Leniyo Amayao, Vice-President of Competitive Swimming
This partnership reflects the shared commitment of both the NAA and the YMCA to fostering a healthier, more inclusive and community-oriented environment for young people and families.
The NAA thanks the YMCA for joining the NAA Community Wave.
