Big Meet 2015 – What a day!

swimming_iconThe 2015 NAA Championship Big Meet is in the books and what a remarkable day it was.  First of all, our thanks to Briarwood, the staff, committee and countless volunteers for all their incredible work putting on another great championship.  Despite some late night challenges, Briarwood pulled through for the NAA yet again and everyone appreciated how well we were hosted throughout the day.

Now for some incredible results.  It’s the end of an era for Elm Park who finally relinquish the NAA Division A title after a 15 consecutive year dynasty.  The accomplishments of several generations of swimmers is a stunning accomplishment.

The winner of the Big Meet itself is, for the first time in history, a TIE!  Yes, a tie!  TMR and Glenmore scored an impressive 676 points each.  But even that score was insufficient by a single point to win the A Division.  That honour goes to Ecclestone who can now proudly see their pool’s name engraved below Elm Park’s as we start a new era of NAA competition.  Congratulations to all!

The winner of B division is Thorndale and the winner of C division is Westpark.

TMR takes home the 8 and under trophy and Glenmore carries home the Most Improved trophy.

What an historic day for the NAA.  You can see all the team scores and the individual results on the 2015 NAA Results page.  There are also several hundred pictures in the Photo Gallery in the 2015 Big Meet Album.
